The paper is concerned with the construction and the study on R of discrete and integral refinable quasi-interpolants having small infinity norms. These operators reproduce polynomial spaces and minimize an upper bound of their infinity norms. The advantage by using them is particularly evident when we approximate functions with isolated discontinuities.
