Reusable object classes are seen as a major benefit of adopting the object-oriented paradigm in the commercial data processing and applications programming worlds. However, without some efficient and effective method of locating previously written classes, this benefit of reuse will be lost. Code location requires the classes to be stored in some retrievable fashion. Such an underlying classification system, together with an associated cataloguing system, appropriate for object libraries, is proposed.
