Abstract

The characteristics of the mobile wireless network are limited bandwidth and high error rate, at same time the computing and storage capacity of the mobile devices are limited too. In order to ensure effective video compression and transmission, H.264/AVC standard provides the significant technologies and strategies in error resilience strategies, rate control, mode decision and scalable extension. On the basis of the detailed study in the strategies, a combination method is proposed, and experiment proves the quality of video transmission is improved at the same time the rate is reduced.
