Abstract

Facilities' location in supply chain is one of the fundamental and strategic decisions of supply chain management. Location in any time is corresponding to that specific time conditions, and a location that is appropriate for one of the facilities, because of the condition's change may not be appropriate for the same facilities after years. The human immune system is a self-organising and highly distributed multi-agent system. These properties impart a high degree of robustness and performance that has created great interest in implementing engineering systems. This adopted engineering analogue is called artificial immune system. This article presents an immunity-based control framework, for facilities relocation problem in supply chain which has the ability to detect changes, adapt to dynamic environment, and coordinate facilities activities for achieving goals, to deploy facilities in a supply chain. A robust and flexible supply chain is achieved through the self-organised and fully decentralised facilities. This model can help in deciding about the supply-chain location changes, constructing new facilities and an appropriate time for those jobs.
