Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an exciting new technology being applied within libraries. Today, more and more libraries are using RFID as it brings new functionality, such as multiple item checkout and check-in, rapid inventories on shelves, and book returns with instant item identification, automatic re-activation of the anti-theft function and database update. Recent notoriety about RFID has lead to a degree of confusion and misinformation surro?nding the technology.
