In this paper, we describe the preliminary steps of a research idea to improve the information retrieval of political news, in order to manage and personalize political news for citizens and politicians. Using a program algorithm with some ontology, we propose a future study of political news taking in consideration the Mexican Case. This poster presents the problem, describes the algorithm functions and designs the study case for measuring Mexican political news in the forthcoming midterm election. Finally, we address some possible conclusions and future research
