Abstract

We describe a study group methodology called paired professional development (PPD) for use by faculty members for continuing education. The methodology brings exactly two colleagues together for cooperative study within a topic area over an extended period of time. Paired professional development is grounded in the practice of study groups, collaborative learning and high-impact educational practices, and is similar to pair programming in structure and benefits.
