Abstract

Grounded in complex theory, this research adopts Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) approach and aims to explore the strategies and conditions for sustainable and scaleable diffusion of pedagogical innovations. Teachers are modeled as individual agents who interact with their near peers in school social networks and make adoption decisions based on bounded rational. The diffusion pattern emerges in spatial-temporal landscape. The model enables policy-makers and school leaders to explore in “what-if” scenarios and the research findings will contribute to the understanding of diffusion phenomena from holism perspective.
