Abstract

This paper presents a system architecture to manage the production programming in a Ceramic Tile factory. The proposed architecture is based on the multi-agent system paradigm since it provides a natural way to solve problems in manufacturing industry domains. The production programming problem is considered as one of the main critical issues in a Ceramic Tile Company because obtaining an agile and reactive production planning and scheduling system is essential in manufacturing. The paper describes the proposed agent organization and the different needed scenarios and interactions in detail.
