This paper presents our work in collecting and formalizing data about dynamic engineering design processes in microelectronics design projects. The paper reports on our experience in evaluating the design process knowledge acquisition routine by applying it to the real industrial project of Cadence Design Systems, GmbH. The methodology is based on the usage of the ontologies developed in the PSI project. Beside the actual process of formalizing the processes it especially focuses on capturing information about the concurrency among activities.
