In this paper we propose a method to obtain the maximum and the minimum of discrete fuzzy numbers, when the extension principle does not yield a fuzzy subset such that it satisfies the conditions of discrete fuzzy number. Moreover, in the case of discrete fuzzy numbers whose support is a subset of consecutive natural numbers, our method and the extension principle obtain the same discrete fuzzy number.
