Abstract

This paper provides an overview of behaviorist, cognitive, and social learning theories, as well as memory and motivation when applied to a paradigm of older software engineers and re-education. While not comprehensive, it does give some insight into the applicability of the different learning theories when applied to the problem of re-educating older software engineers. We find that cognitivist theories, memory and motivation predominantly hold as pedagogical approaches to effectively address this audience.
