This paper presents a method for generating the zone profile of a mobile user by determining its appropriate radio profile in order to support location based services. The location-sensitive charging services are offering special tariffs inside a predefined geographical area, the Localized Service Area (LSA) or they can offer short-message advertising, etc. In this paper we are describing a network-based solution for deriving the appropriate list of cells (LoC) that defines the radio profile. The input data base for this method consists in the geographical coordinates of the base-station sites. Then Voronoi polygons are computed based on sites location (latitude and longitude) as centroids. The Voronoi polygons are then divided into sectors based on the antenna azimuths. Finally the LoCs of the subscriber given a specific location is derived and the appropriate LSA view is generated.
