This paper describes E-TCP, an evolutionary computation approach for TCP. It is designed to avoid heavy congested areas by using an evolutionary path adaptation of the outgoing packets. E-TCP is evaluated through simulations using ns2. E-TCP delivers a significant performance improvement for bulk data transfers.
