Abstract

The primary focus of this research is to investigate the effects of awareness on collaborative learning process and product. In face-to-face settings, people are naturally aware of, maintain, and update the information of peers' activities. But, in case of the distributed environment, learners have difficulties in acquiring the awareness of people and their activities. In consequence, providing awareness information is crucial for sustaining effective group interaction and performance in the distributed learning environment.
