Abstract

This paper introduces the Easy API as a tool to ease the development of multimedia applications that run into mobile devices. Easy is implemented for maemo, a Linux-based open source development platform for Internet Tablets. In this paper we describe how to use its internal multimedia modules such as Audio, Camera and Radio, providing useful examples implemented using Easy API. We conclude this paper with a comparison between Easy's approach and other similar mechanisms largely used to create multimedia applications for the maemo platform.
