Abstract

Considering the notoriety that XML has gained in the last years as an exchange format, how can we conciliate XML data exchange and presentation with efficient data storage? Is there a one-fits-all solution? If not, what are the possible scenarios and solutions? This paper presents preliminary results on performance tests over several state-of-the-art solutions for XML storage, indexing and retrieval.
