One of the challenging topics to address through the advances made in information technology domain is the management of risk in work environments. This is due to the heterogeneity of issues which should be considered such as technological and social just to name two of the most important ones. In this context the key ideas of Web-enabled architectures are approached to face emergencies and risky situations in work places. In the present paper we outline an architectural model based on the Web technology which includes wearable-based services in order to improve safety in work environments. Moreover, we discuss several technological and social features related to the proposed solution.
