Abstract

Transmission parameter adaptation in a dynamic multicarrier environment is a challenging task for cognitive radio. We propose a novel adaptation method that uses binary ant colony optimization to optimize the cognitive radio parameters given a set of objectives. Simulation results show that proposed method performs better than genetic algorithm -based adaptation method in terms of convergence speed and converged fitness values. The proposed method gives a better solution to the parameter adaptation problem and provides higher fitness values in less number of iterations.
