Adaptive methods have become increasingly important in communication systems particulary in web and proxy server. In such an environment the selection of appropriate algorithms is highly dependent on the observed workload traffic, so that in the last decade a few studies have focused on developing adaptive methods to deal with the fast changes in WWW workload. In this paper we present a dynamic adaptive workload based scheduling algorithm. We will show that the developed algorithm delivers very good results for the average waiting as well as for response times by avoiding starvation. For our validation and comparison, we used trace driven simulations.
