The Semantic Web is best described as an evolving extension of the current World Wide Web (WWW), where not only humans but machines are able to interpret Web content. To enable these machines to interpret the meaning of Web content, this meaning must be described in a machine processable form. Several standards have been proposed to facilitate in adding meaning to existing Web resources. One such standard that has gained a significant amount of interest is the Web Ontology Language (OWL), which enables knowledge to be represented through well-defined constructs.
