This paper deals with initial value problems for the sine-Gordon equation by using the modified homotopy perturbation method. The advantage of this method that is its ability to provide the analytical or approximate solutions to linear and nonlinear equations makes it reliable for solving the sine-Gordon equation. The numerical results are presented to show the efficiency of this method.
