Abstract

A new geometric entity is introduced, the 'presque half-plane' (php), and used to construct 'the php representation'. This representation scheme for 2D objects has some determining properties: a wide domain, validity, completeness, uniqueness and equality. It can easily be employed to serve the needs of the designer and it can be extended to the representation of the solids to constitute a general representation scheme.
