Abstract

The research in the department is concerned mainly with computer-aided design. The fields in which c.a.d. is being applied include: the application of the Rademacher/Walsh transform to digital circuit synthesis; system simulation by digital filter methods; picture processing; and the design of optimal switching networks by linear programming techniques. A theoretical study of the properties of certain orthogonal transforms is also being carried out. Some of this research is outlined in the following sections.
