Abstract

In this paper, an efficient computational scheme is proposed to calculate the symbol mean and variance from bit a priori information, when a so-called multilinear mapping is employed. The multilinear mapping is exploited to reduce the number of the terms needed for the calculation of the symbol mean and variance.
