Abstract

Desktop applications are gradually migrating to Web-based services. Now people are able to use various services to perform their all daily work on Web. However, it's still difficult for them to: (1) unify the personal data space with service data spaces and bridge the gap between personal data and distributed Web services; (2) handle the data's consistency across different Web services; and (3) protect their data while sharing them with little effort. In this paper, we show that a Web platform, ILemo, can solve these problems and greatly simplify the management and integration of personal data and services. We develop Scientist Personal Space, a Web site to collect, manage and manipulate research data for researchers and show the feasibility and benefits of our approach.
