Abstract

This paper introduces the COSTT (Cooperation-Support Through Transparency) project and the overall objectives it addresses. One of the challenges in the project is to design an architecture to represent clinical reality in order to support cooperation in the perioperative environment. In this paper we describe some initial thoughts on how event based architectures can be used as a basis for merging different data sources, including real-time positioning data, into useful visualised information via middleware. Also, the concept of contextualised events is introduced and described how this contributes to the transparency objectives of COSTT.
