Abstract

In this paper the amplitude banded least mean square (ABLMS) equalizer addressed by Shimamura et al. recently is studied as a nonlinear equalizer for stationary channels. The performance of the ABLMS equalizer is comprehensively investigated by changing the equalizer parameters in a comparative fashion with the corresponding LMS equalizer. Computer simulation results show that the ABLMS equalizer provides a significant performance improvement by setting adequate amplitude division with low filter order.
