Abstract

A new multiuser detection scheme based on signal subspace estimation is proposed. Blind channel estimation technique estimate the channel coefficients and those channel coefficients are used by the rake receiver to estimate the bits. The existing blind methods suffer from high computational complexity and sensitivity to accurate knowledge of the noise subspace rank. In this paper a blind adaptive implementation based on a signal subspace tracking algorithm is proposed. The proposed method estimates the noise subspace by a simple matrix power that is computationally efficient and requires no knowledge of the noise subspace rank. Using the estimated noise subspace channel impulse response is identified by using a low dimensional SVD which reduces the computational complexity significantly.
