Abstract

Static magnetic fields, resulting from an applied field, are calculated in the vicinity of a magnetic body. Specifically, numerical results are given for a rectangular body of constant permeability. The reduction or shielding of the magnetic fields is calculated in the neighborhood of the body. Integral equations ared eveloped which can bes olved numerically on ac omputer. Typical fields are described for rectangles of different thicknesses, and comparisons with known solutions are shown.
