MIS research between 1984 and 1990 is categorized by university, journal and type of research. The results are compared to a previous study conducted in 1984 which analyzed research conducted between 1977 and 1983. The amount of MIS research has almost doubled during the period of the study as has the number of universities producing MIS research. The leading producers of research are the University of Minnesota, MIT, Harvard, the University of Pittsburgh and New York University.
