Abstract

This paper extends the study of cochannel interference and its effect on cooperative communication networks. We consider an arbitrary number of equal and unequal power interferers along with thermal noise corrupting an M-ary phase-shift keying signal generated by a source and an arbitrary number of cooperating relays. In addition to previous works, each interferer may have unequal path powers appearing at the destination, representing varying amounts of interference cancellation performed at the relays. Such analysis aids in the design and focus of interference cancellation in a cooperative network.
