Abstract

Web community is a web object set, which is composed of documents and users, and it is a huge resource warehouse and exchange flat of information. The web communities are more and more important for many enterprises and individuals because we can get all kinds of useful information and carry out business affairs by it. The community stability is especially important because the corporation cannot have a group of steady customers and orders unless their web community is stable, and their merchandise will be sold well and the business value will be upgraded steadily. In this paper, we have proven that the community is a system of dissipative structure, the random fluctuation of general community member will be dissipated by the system. However, the fluctuation of the members who have biggish contribution will not be dissipated, so the system becomes unstable, which will head the system for a more ordered or chaotic state. Therefore, to rein effectively the fluctuation benefits for the community flourish.Information entropy can be used to measure the uniformity of each subsystem, so it can be used to measure the stability of web community. In the paper, we provide a quantificational approach based on the information entropy to measure the stability.
