Abstract

A novel score function is presented by taking into account the expectation of the hesitancy degree of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFSs). And a deviation function is defined considering the variance of the hesitancy degree of IVIFSs. A new method for ranking interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers is then established based on the score function and deviation function. The proposed method can well overcome the situation of difficult decision or wrong decision of existing measuring functions to the alternatives in some cases. To identify the best alternative in muticriteria decision-making problems, a multicriteria fuzzy decision-making method is presented in which criterion values for alternatives are IVIFSs. Finally, an illustrative example is given to verify the developed approach.
