Abstract

This paper introduces plural Test Bed configurations of a CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) local network. The Latest Test Bed structure allows local people to broadcast high definition video any time they want to. The local access network such as FTTH (Fiber To The Home) has a Point to Multi-point network structure. As a trial The Test Bed network has a Multi-point to Multi-point structure. In the area of local (access) networks, the idea of WDM application was proposed many years ago. But the technology was regarded as expensive and this prevented further development. But now CWDM wavelengths are standardized. It is possible to purchase LD (Laser Diode), PD (Photo Diode) and filters at comparatively reasonable prices. This paper introduces the CWDM based Test Bed development in our laboratory. The purpose of the Test Bed is to find the possible services on WDM based switching technology.
