Abstract

This paper presents the design of an integrated filtering system using bragg mirrors and MEMS actuators. The actuator varies the air gap thickness between two mirror stacks to vary the optical transmission of the stack. The architecture of the code based router is proposed and its configured using the combination of wavelength filters, circulators, combiners and MEMS optical switch on a single platform. The CDMA code based all optical router employs a level coding scheme. The optical MEMS filter is required to isolate the different spectral components of the code. The electrostatic actuator and filter is modeled using simulink and MEMS intellisuite real time software.
