Abstract

This paper presents the digital watermarking based on the modification of image pixels. Since the watermark is embedded into every image pixel in the blue color channel, this method can achieve high capacity of watermark embedding. From our observation, the above method works best with the images having low variation of pixel values. We hence propose to embed the watermark signal in the less pixel variation color channels i.e. the YC b C r color space. We also propose a new watermark extraction method based on the variance of pixel values around the embedding bit. The experimental results show the better performance in term of accuracy of the recovered watermark. The results also show that our approach significantly helps improve the watermark recovery performance when applied with the images having a large number of high frequency components.
