In sensor network environment, there exists position tracking services as a part of the silver-care system for aged dementia patients. There have been frequent accidental reports of aged dementia patients, and we can prevent these accidents from occurring through the position tracking devices. However, this application requires the adoption of sensor dispatch device on patients, making it necessary to develop portal and small sized sensor devices for this application. In this paper, we propose a new position tracking sensor using acceleration sensors in order to overcome the limitations of existing models, and develop an energy-efficient position tracking sensor for silver-care service.
