Abstract

In recent years, Real-time Streaming media has been widely used in IP network. For satisfying the requirement of Real-time Streaming media, new transport layer protocol named DCCP was proposed and there was a lot of work to measure its performance. In this paper, we did the experimental study of the VoIP transmission performance with TCP, UDP and DCCP. Different with other works, we did the whole experiments in real networks and got an interesting result: unusual performance of CCID3 for CDR traffic, especially in the wired to wireless experiment. We analyzed the possible reason of CCID3 performance, and validated our analysis through test bed with NistNet.
