Abstract

Aiming at demand of users in speech and vision support to obtain textual messages from WebPages, a method of embedding 3D virtual human into webpage is proposed, to implement visual speech synthesis in Web environment. A simplified 3D virtual human based on links is constructed. VRML and Java3D are used to create and control the virtual human model. Based on Java programming language and HTML, the virtual human is embedded into a webpage for visual speech synthesis purpose.
