In the wireless LAN (WLAN), when a node transmits PS POLL packet to receive downlink packet from an access point during a beacon transmission interval, the transmission order of PS_POLL packet is determined competitively without any policy. This results in needless power exhaustion of nodes. Therefore, we propose a battery-aware power efficient downlink scheduling in the WLAN. The proposed scheme differentiates PS_POLL packet transmission according to remaining battery quantity. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme consumes the power of overall node uniformly and increases life time of node compared with conventional scheme.
