In this paper, we study how to improve the performance of a decode-and-forward protocol based cooperative system over the delay constrained channels. We propose a simple transmission scheme, which makes the cooperative system tolerant of the delays caused by the poor synchronization of the relaying nodes. The proposed scheme is able to provide an improved coding gain in unsynchronized cooperative network as compared to the existing delay tolerant distributed space-time block codes.
