Abstract

In this paper, we propose a real-time encryption method without additional information in digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) contents using AES (advanced encryption standard) encryption algorithm and implement it on a personal multimedia player (PMP). As the experimental result, we examined the operation of real time encryption and decryption in PMP with format compliance, while without increment of file size. Additionally, we confirmed that the saved contents in a PMP were not played in other devices without decryption key. Our implemented system can be useful in real-time applications requiring contents protection service such as video on demand, IPTV and digital TV.
