The optimization of MAPSK modulation is investigated in this paper. Different points are set in different rings of the constellation to maximize the minimum Euclidean Distance. The optimum ring ratio is given and the performance of optimized MAPSK under AWGN channel is evaluated. Simulation results show that optimized MAPSK is superior to the conventional MQAM and it can be a potential choice for spectrally efficient modulation scheme for wireless communications.
