Abstract

The mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is developing rapidly these years, but the dynamic nodes lead to unsteady topological structure. As P2P applications have advantages of performance, robustness, expansibility and so on, it is worth gathering the advantages of the MANET and P2P applications. This paper presents a design of messenger oriented P2P (MOP2P) framework in the MANET, and discusses its strong points. The main idea of MOP2P regards each network node as a messenger who can carry messages to the receivers. The MOP2P focuses on the messages instead of the routes. The theoretic analysis reveals that MOP2P in the MANET is more efficient than that of traditional end-to-end communication.
