Abstract

Measurement of the performance of a computer network using active measurement techniques is gaining popularity. This paper seeks to evaluate a set of active measurement tools and provide a statistical reference in order to determine the accuracy of the tools. The focus on using statistical methods to evaluate the time series data enhances the credibility, as compared to visually comparing raw time series graphs generated by passive measurement tools.
