Abstract

Currently, most Korean domestic 3G terminals use VT (Video Telephony) service. This service is based on circuit switching with video codec standard of H.263 or MPEG-4. There is a strong need for enhancing image qualities by VT terminal before transmitting, however, its limited processing capability does not allow for such processing. In this paper, we propose a low complexity video post-processing method implementable in resource-limited Qualcomm™ MSM platform. This proposed algorithm improves low quality video acquired by cheap VGA camera taken in un-friendly environment. It improves brightness and colors, so it perceptually enhances image quality in VT.
