Abstract

L.A. Zadeh first suggested a method of fuzzy reasoning called compositional rule of inference (CRI for short). Instead of sup-min composition we use a more general composition called sup-T composition in CRI. According to the criteria GMP and GMT, the fuzzy implication R must satisfy the sup-T composite fuzzy relational equations: Q@?R=S and S@?R^-^1=Q. In this paper, we discuss the solution of these equations and point out that sup-@? composition and the implication R"n"a used to CRI will be more suitable under criteria GMP and GMT.
