Abstract

The main objective of this research work is the design and the characterization of a reverberation chamber that will emulate both Rician and Rayleigh fading channels between a single transmitter and receiver in a controlled environment. Following analytical considerations and simulations, a compact sized reverberation chamber able to generate fading channels from 800 MHz has been designed. Such a reverberation chamber can prove to be essential for the development of leading technology communication systems since it permits laboratory real time validation of the performances of transmitting/receiving devices in a true fading channel.
