This paper develops a bit and power allocation scheme in an interlaced iterative fashion for OFDM-based systems in interference channels. The interference is caused by frequency-reuse in wireless cellular systems. The model of the co-channel interference channel in downlink multi-cell OFDM systems is considered. The scheme intends to minimize the total transmit power of all base stations while satisfying the required data rate and symbol error rate of each user in the cell. The proposed algorithm is shown to greatly reduce the computational complexity of an existing algorithm with negligible amount of transmit power increment as demonstrated in the simulation results.
